Shepherd King Welcomes You
Greetings in the name of God who is love.
“Shepherd King” is an unusual name for a congregation. The people who worship, learn, and minister here contemplate our congregation’s name so that it can guide us in our work. We know Jesus as our Lord and our King, but he is not the same as many secular kings who rule with self-interest and domination. Because he is also a shepherd, Jesus has humble roots. Born among the poor, Jesus takes note of the poor, the hungry, the suffering and shows them compassion. Shepherd King Lutheran Church seeks to continue the ministry of this Lord Jesus in how we interact with one another and with the community around us. We express our love for God through our involvement in Angel Food ministry, by adopting a local school, in tutoring young people, caring for the elderly, engaging in Bible study, and sharing the good news of God’s love in Jesus with all.
